Trigger Point Dry Needling (TDN/IMS)

A relieving treatment for muscular tightness and spasm which commonly follows injuries, degenerative process, stress and over use of muscles. Muscular tightness and spasm can cause compression and irritation of nerves exiting the spine. This may cause peripheral diagnoses such as tendonitis, osteoarthritis, carpal tunnel, sciatica, decreased mobility and chronic pain. Small, thin needles are inserted into the muscle at the knots, known as trigger points, which are causing the pain referral. Because the needles are so thin the patient often does not feel the needle go in, but will quickly feel the relief of the muscle relaxing. The patient typically notices immediate increased flexibility of the muscle and a decrease in symptoms.

Schroth Method – Treatment of Scoliosis

The Schroth method was developed in Germany in the 1920’s by Katharina Schroth. The Schroth Method is a physiotherapeutic treatment system which uses isometric and other exercises to strengthen or lengthen asymmetrical muscles in a scoliotic body. Its goals are to halt progression of abnormal spinal curvature, and in the best case to reverse the curves.

“This was a very positive experience in terms of relief from pain and improvement from complaints with which I came. The staff was very professional and the atmosphere was very positive and friendly.”OSPT Testimony

Non Surgical Spinal Decompression

Nonsurgical spinal decompression is a type of motorized traction that can help relieve back pain, neck pain and numbness/tingling. Spinal decompression works by gently stretching the spine which changes the force and position of the spine. This will take pressure off the spinal discs, which are gel-like cushions between the bones in your spine. Negative pressure from this therapy may cause retraction of the bulging or herniated discs. That can take pressure off the nerves and other structures in your spine. This in turn, helps promote movement of water, oxygen, and nutrient-rich fluids into the discs so they can heal.

Instrumented Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization

IASTM utilizes specially designed tools to break up scar tissue at the injury site. The effects of IASTM include pain relief, increased flexibility, enhanced recovery. It is very effective in treating conditions such as tendinitis, plantar fasciitis, and muscle strains/tears.

Dynamic Taping

Dynamic Tape is a unique, strongly elastic tape which is used in the treatment of many sporting, musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. The tape has 4 way stretch capability, breathable, water resistant, incredibly soft and is highly elastic. It allows for full movement but provides superior support and optimal movement while providing offloading the of muscle. The tape directly effects the tissue mechanics, movement patterns, pain physiology and circulation dependent on how the tape is applied and which effect is intended. The tape itself is not meant as a long term solution but rather an aid alongside rehabilitative exercises. So as time and treatment progresses the frequency of application and dependency would decrease.

Selective Functional Movement Assessment

SMFA is a comprehensive assessment used to classify movement patterns and direct manual therapy and therapeutic interventions. It is movement based diagnostic system, designed to clinically assess seven fundamental movement patterns in those with known musculoskeletal pain. The assessment provides an efficient method to systematically find the cause of symptoms, not just the source, by logically breaking down dysfunctional patterns and diagnosing their root cause as either a mobility problem or a stability/motor control problem.

“Thank you for being accommodating and friendly. You always had me in and out in a timely fashion without minimizing the quality of my therapy sessions. Thank you for making it a very positive and pleasant experience.”OSPT Testimony
